Edenbridge Friendz formerly known as Edenbridge and District Mencap, provide activities and services to adults with learning disabilities within Edenbridge and the surrounding area. This includes a Wednesday Social Club and a Friday night swimming club. These activities provide people with the chance to meet, socialise and try different activities. This is a wonderful service however, they are in need of help. Due to the rural location of the service clients often struggle to reach some of the activities. Edenbridge Friendz have a minibus and they are looking for drivers who would be willing to offer a few hours once a month to drive the bus around the Edenbridge area picking up people and then dropping them back home after a few hours. Volunteers are more than welcome to stay and join in the session or it may suit you to pick up and then return at the end of a session to drop everyone off. Volunteers are also needed to provide volunteer transport for more remote clients using their own cars. Again drivers are needed once a week, however, if several volunteers can offer their services this could be less frequent. For more information or to have a chat about the role please contact Pauline Collins on 01732 864291. ...
